Two other scholarships that have deadlines soon are the Local Elks Most Valuable student which is November 5th and Horatio Alger which is October 25th. See Ms. Evans or the Career Website for more information. VE

A CGHS student is collecting donations for the veterans of Foreign Wars VFW here in Cottage Grove. Care packages will be sent overseas to our troops to make their holidays brighter. There are three ways to donate: donating items from the recommended care package item list that can be found in the main office, sending cards or letters or donating money for postage, any amount will help. Drop off all donations to the bin located in the main office. We will be collecting donations until November 15th. Thank you. KJ

During the time teachers are in their classrooms, parents can drop in for a more private 10-minute conference or e-mail teachers directly to schedule a specific time. You can find teacher e-mail addresses on the CGHS website under Staff and Departments.
Parents are encouraged to attend with their student. This is a great opportunity to meet with teachers and get a first hand report on how things are going here at school. Home Access Center is another great tool for keeping track of your student's progress and attendance. Check it out on the school website at cghs.slane.k12.or.us. We hope to see you at conferences!
