Girls and boys basketball take on Sweet Home at home today! The JV girls & JV boys games start at 4:15, varsity girls & JV2 boys games start at 5:45, and the varsity boys game will start at 7:15. Come out and support our Lions!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope this letter finds you in good health and good spirits. We are pleased to announce an
upcoming vision screening event hosted by The Oregon Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation
(OLSHF) at your child’s school, Cottage Grove High School, on 12/18/2025 at 8:30.

Studies have shown clear and healthy vision is fundamental to a child's education – 80% of a
child’s learning comes through vision, and 60% of students considered “problem learners” have
undetected vision problems. Through these screenings, we are able to help catch vision issues
early and support their educational journey. There is no cost to families whose children
participate.

OLSHF is a non-profit organization which, in partnership with local Lions clubs, provides vision
screenings in over 80% of Oregon school districts. The screening utilizes a Baxter Welch Allyn
Spot Vision Screener to measure your child’s eyes and determine if they need a comprehensive
eye exam. The Spot works like a digital camera and uses infrared light to measure and detect
potential vision problems most commonly found in children. Students’ results will be sent home
by the school within a few weeks following the screening, along with a list of resources for eye
exams in the community.

Thank you for your support in prioritizing your child's vision health and overall well-being. We

Esperamos que esta carta los encuentre en buena salud y espíritus elevados. Nos complace
anunciar un próximo evento de proyección de visión organizado por la Oregon Lions Sight and
Hearing Foundation (OLSHF) en la escuela de su hijo, Escuela secundaria Cottage Grove el 18
de Diciembre de 2025 a las 8:30.

Los estudios han demostrado que una visión clara y saludable es fundamental para la

educación de un niño -- el 80% del aprendizaje de un niño viene a través de la visión, y el 60%
de los estudiantes considerados "aprendices problemáticos" tienen problemas de
visión no detectados. A través de estas proyecciones, podemos ayudar a detectar los problemas
de la visión temprano y apoyar el viaje educativo. No hay costo para las familias cuyos hijos
participan.

OLSHF es una organización sin fines de lucro que, en asociación con clubes locales de leones,
proporciona proyecciones de visión en más del 80% de los distritos escolares de Oregón. La
evaluación utiliza un examinador de visión Baxter Welch Allyn Spot para medir los ojos de su
hijo y determinar si necesita un examen ocular completo. El Spot funciona como una cámara
